Incorporated in 1971, The City of Fairlawn is a thriving charter city with a Mayor/Council form of government.  The 5 square mile suburb of Akron has a population of 7,500 residents, but a diverse business and retail area creates a population of 30,000 visitors daily.  Abundant services and programs include FairlawnGig (the city owned Broadband Utility), a city run Recycling/Trash facility, Auditor of State award winning Finance Department, and full time Police and Fire Departments.
