The City of Nashua, Division of Public Works, is seeking bids for pedestrian safety improvements at the Charlotte Ave Elementary School, located at 48 Charlotte Ave in Nashua, NH. This project involves the construction of traffic calming and pedestrian safety improvements. This project involves the construction of traffic calming and pedestrian safety improvements. Proposed improvements include construction of new concrete sidewalks with new vertical granite curbing at the intersection of Charlotte Avenue and Charlotte Street; installation of new stop markings at the intersection of Charlotte Avenue and Charlotte Street; construction of new bituminous sidewalk and new vertical granite curbing on the north side Charlotte Avenue from the east corner of Burgess Street to the west corner of Meade Street; and construction of a new bituminous sidewalk, vertical granite curb extension, and mid-block crosswalk on a portion of the south side of Charlotte Avenue. Other work includes but is not limited to: installation of new road drainage components; removal of existing crosswalks at Burgess Street and Meade Street; installation of new school zone flashing beacons with radar feedback signs; and removal of pavement markings and painting new pavement markings to narrow the travel way width on Charlotte Avenue from Burgess Street to Meade Street. The project does require utility pole relocation work being coordinated by the City to be to be completed prior to the start of construction.
