21-15 SHE-SR 47-13.97 SR 47 SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS IV (4TH TO I-75) PID 112179 DBE GOAL 6%: The 0.58 mile long project on SR 47 (Michigan St.) from the SB Interstate 75 ramp east to Fourth Ave. will consist of the following improvements: enhanced crosswalk visibility and signing; addition of countdown pedestrian signals; continuation of a 10 foot wide shared use path from Fourth Ave. to the SB Interstate ramp; removal of 3 drives on the south side of SR 47 near Fifth Avenue; construction of a concrete median at Fifth Ave. to prevent left turns exiting Fifth Avenue; reconstruction of a commercial drive approach on the south side of the Sixth Ave. intersection and installation of a mast arm traffic signal with backing plates at the same intersection; widen the south side of SR 47 at Sixth Ave and add a U-turn lane for WB traffic to return east; Removal and replacement of existing guardrail from Fifth Ave. to Fourth Ave. with concrete median; reconstruct pavement on south lanes of SR 47 at Fourth Ave. and install a concrete left turn lane; mill and resurface SR 47 along the entire length of the project and upgrade signs and pavement markings. Construction Estimate with Base Bid and either Alternate 1 or Alternate 2 is $2,320,999.
