Jensen Avenue Improvements
West Avenue to Fig Avenue (MLK Boulevard)
The work to be done consists, in general, of reconstructing approximately 1.5 miles of Jensen Avenue from West Avenue to Fig Avenue (also known as MLK Blvd). The road will be reconstructed using a Full-Depth Reclamation with Cement method. The road work includes construction of new curb ramps, adjusting sewer manholes, signage and striping, and other miscellaneous items. A new ductile iron water pipeline will also be installed, replacing an existing asbestos water pipeline to be abandoned in place. Coordination with City of Fresno Public Utilities Department will be necessary to arrange the tie-in to existing system. The pipe replacement also involves installation of new water meters, fire hydrants, valves, and other appurtenant work. Some Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District (FMFCD) master storm drain facilities shall also be installed as part of the work.
The DBE Contract Goal is 17% percent.

A Job Order Contract is an indefinite quantity contract pursuant to which the Contractor will perform an ongoing series of individual projects at different locations throughout the County of Fresno. The types of work to done may include, but is not limited to: concrete repair, culvert repair, guardrail replacement, bridge removal, bridge wing wall repair, irrigation pipe replacement, repair of failed roadway sections, repair of asphalt dike, and minor parking lot repairs. Work being contemplated under the Job Order Contract may include potentially Federally-funded work associated with a declared disaster over which the Federal Emergency Management Agency would have oversight. The bid documents include a Construction Task Catalog® containing construction tasks with preset Unit Prices. All Unit Prices are based on local labor prevailing wages, material and equipment prices and are for the direct cost of construction.

22-05-C Dry Creek Bridge Replacement on Burrough Valley Road
The work to be done consists, in general, of the replacement of the Dry Creek Bridge and box culvert on Burrough Valley Road, south of the community of Tollhouse and approximately 25 miles northeast of the City of Fresno. The existing bridge would be removed to accommodate a replacement structure measuring 35 feet 6 inches wide by 114 feet long; the replacement structure would accommodate two 12-foot-wide traffic lanes, two 4-foot-wide shoulders, and two Type 836 concrete barriers. The replacement culvert would consist of a two cell 6-foot high (4-foot clear) by 12-foot wide (12-foot clear) precast concrete box culvert structure. During construction, traffic on Burrough Valley Road would be maintained through the construction of a temporary creek crossing downstream of the existing bridge. The crossing would be located approximately 110 feet south of the southwestern corner of the existing bridge span, connecting Tollhouse Road to Burrough Valley Road.

22-21-C RMO Yard Area 8 Fence Reconstruction
The work to be done consists, in general, of the reconstruction of the fence and two access gates surrounding the Area 8 Maintenance and Operations yard, which is south of Olive and in between Highland Ave and McCall Ave on 9525 E. Olive Ave. in Sanger. Prior to the installation of the chain link fence, existing fence and wood fence posts need to be removed and disposed of. The existing fence consists of barbed wire on wood with most areas on metal posts. The 2 access gates will need to provide for 16 feet wide openings. The chain link fence will be 6 feet tall with barbed wire along the top.

The work to be done consists, in general, of 178 lane miles of crack sealing. Several additive locations are proposed for up to 17 lane miles of crack sealing within County Service Areas.

22-20-C Dry Creek on Burrough Valley Road Tree Removal
The work, in general, consists of removal and proper disposal of 45 native trees located within the project limits of the Dry Creek Bridge Replacement Project on Burrough Valley Road, just east of Tollhouse Road. All debris generated by the felling and removal of trees must be removed. The roadway must be kept free from debris at all times. Installation of Temporary Fence (Type ESA) may be required prior to beginning onsite work.
The DBE Contract Goal is 0 percent.

22-09-C Ashlan Avenue and Palm Avenue Traffic Signal and Road Improvements
The work to be done consists, in general, of fully replacing the existing traffic signal, removing an existing drain inlet and several trees, and reconstructing the pavement at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Ashlan Avenue. The work will also include cold planing and overlaying, installing four (4) new concrete curb ramps, replacing, and installing the new curb and gutter, installing approximately 140 lineal feet of sidewalk, and signing, striping and pavement marking. The work will also involve coordination with existing utility companies and the City of Fresno. The intersection shall remain open during the entire duration of the project.
The DBE Contract Goal is 20 percent.

22-14-C Golden State Boulevard Phase 1
The work to be done consists in general of improvements along Golden State Boulevard for approximately 14.1 miles from south of American Avenue to Mission Street in Kingsburg through Cities of Fowler, Selma, Kingsburg, and unincorporated areas of the County. The work will include pavement rehabilitation using an on-site Cold Central Plant Recycling technique, cement-treated base, laying hot-mix asphalt, excavation and trenching, intersection signalization and channelization, installing end terminals and wood post guardrails, striping, pipe installation, sidewalk installation and replacement, installation of street lights, landscaping including tree removals, and other items as specified in the plans and specifications. The project requires a ninety (90) days plant establishment period per Standard Specifications and Special provisions. The plans are divided into three sets, one for each region, however they will be constructed as one project. Intersection and signal work involving Union Pacific Railroad will be bid as Phase 2 of this project at a later time.
