The City of Nashua, NH, herein referred to as “the City”, is seeking proposals from qualified, interested parties to submit a Scope of Work and Detailed Cost Proposal for the design and installation of an automatic fire sprinkler system and fire alarm system within the existing two-story, 4,000 SF 14 Court Street building. Work scope will include removal and reinstallation of areas of existing grid ceilings and interior lighting upgrades. All work shall be done in accordance NFPA-13, 2013 Edition; NFPA-72, 2013 Edition; NFPA-70, 2017 Edition and other applicable state and local codes.

The City of Nashua is sending out this Request for Qualifications for comprehensive engineering and architectural services; and construction administration, for the rehabilitation of Nashua’s Transit Center. The Transit Center building serves as the hub for all transit routes, as well as the ticketing office. The current design and layout of the facility, the bus platform and surrounding pavement, and traffic flow poses a number of significant safety concerns that need to be addressed to improve overall efficiency and safety. This project will result in a revitalized transit center which can adequately meet the needs of all Nashua Transit System (NTS) riders and operations. The project is funded by Federal Transit Administration through a competitive 5339 discretionary funding grant. Matching funds have been provided by the City of Nashua and the State of NH and, as a result, will follow the all City Procurement procedures, FTA Circular 4220.1F, in particular the Brooks Act, and Super Circular, 2 CFR Part 200, and 23 CFR Part 172 Procurement, Management, and Administration of Engineering and Design Related Services; Final Rule. The project timeline includes feasibility and final design engineering in the spring through fall of 2019, bid construction advertised through the winter, and construction starting in the spring of 2020.

The City of Nashua is sending out this Request for Qualifications for comprehensive engineering services, including civil engineering design and construction administration, which involves completing the construction of the Heritage Rail Trail East. This project would extend the bike and pedestrian trail from the Heritage Rail Trail West’s terminus at Main Street in downtown Nashua and continue the trail to East Hollis Street/Denton Street intersection. This project will result in approximate ¾ of a mile bicycle and pedestrian trail from Main Street to Denton Street, next to the 25 Crown Street future rail station. The project is funded by Federal Highway funds with the match provided by the City of Nashua, through the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant and, as a result, will follow the NH Department of Transportation’s “Local Public Agency Manual for the Development of Projects”. The schedule work for this project includes the construction of approximately 1600 Linear Feet of new bituminous sidewalk including granite curb and concrete ADA complaint tip-downs, and the installation of approximately 230 Linear Feet of granite curbing on East Dunstable Road. The Contractor will provide all labor, equipment, and material to construct the improvements shown on the “Broad Street Sidewalk Extension Plan”, provided with this Invitation to Bid. The Contractor will be responsible for providing traffic control as needed during all working and non-working hours.

The City of Nashua, Division of Public Works, is seeking bids for the 2019 Pavement Cracking Sealing Program Contract. The work is located in various locations throughout the City of Nashua and consists primarily of micro-surfacing and crack sealing. The majority or work will be in City streets with some limited parking lot crack sealing and asphalt patching. The Contract will be awarded following approval by the Board of Public Works and Board of Aldermen. The City of Nashua reserves the right to substitute work of similar nature or to add additional work subject to the contract amendment process. Contractor shall ensure that its activities and activities of its employees are in strict compliance with Environmental Protection Agency, all applicable federal, state and local statutes, ordinances, regulations and rules, including without limitation, the Federal OSHA of 1970, as amended and the standards and regulations issued hereunder, and all other statues, ordinances, regulations, rules, standards and requirements of common law in relation to industrial hygiene and safety, and the protection of health and the environment. The City of Nashua would like to emphasize the importance of construction work zone safety. The City of Nashua has adopted the provisions of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for work zone safety. Unless otherwise indicated in this contract, the contract shall follow the requirements of the MUTCD at all roadway construction work zones. The anticipated Commencement date for the contract is on or about May 10, 2019. Project will begin once a written “Notice to Proceed” is issued.

The City of Nashua, Division of Public Works, is soliciting bid proposals from qualified firms for the Long-Term Management of Wastewater Biosolids that are generated at the Nashua Wastewater Treatment Facility (NWTF), 2 Sawmill Road, Nashua. Management must be in an environmentally sound manner and be in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. The contract will be for initial period of three (3) years, with first year commencing on July 1, 2019 and terminating on June 30, 2022. The City will consider three (3) additional one (1) year extensions of the contract upon satisfactory performance of the vendor. Each year of the contract (the initial three (3) years and any one (1) year extensions if awarded) is subject to annual budget appropriations. Please see attached “REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS” for Proposal Specifications, which includes Instructions to Bidders on Proposal Submission Documents, Proposal Submission Date, Insurance coverage and policy limits for the duration of the contract, and Performance Bond requirements.
