CP 3040 City of Lake Charles project, ‘1st Avenue Trail North of Broad to I-10’ consist of site work improvements for an identified recreational trail development area. The site work consists of traffic control, erosion control, clearing and grubbing, grading, and stockpiling of topsoil and vegetative much, saw cutting, demolition of asphaltic and concrete pavement, installation of concrete pavement, and installation of concrete curb and gutter build back, as outlined on the contract documents. Background: Gusting winds, debris impacts, and heavy rain, associated with Hurricane Laura, incurred minimal to severe damages to multiple buildings located at Wastewater Treatment Plants A, B/C, and D. This project will serve to provide necessary repairs to reinstate building functionality to pre-storm conditions. Scope items have also been identified that would serve to upgrade these antiquated systems to the latest codes and standards. II. City of Lake Charles, Louisiana University Area Red Sub Basin Sewer Rehabilitation Capital Project Number CP3251 I. Scope of Services A. The University area is one of the oldest areas in the City of Lake Charles. Wastewater flow studies have indicated excessive inflow and infiltration during rain events, causing peak flows up to 14 times the average daily wastewater rate. B. Based on review of CCTV data of the Sub-Basin, recommendations for repair have been made and a cost estimate has been developed. C. This scope of work covers the repair of the collection system in the University – Red Sub-Basin Sewer Rehabilitation Project. The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: a. Base Bid: i. There is approximately 8,418 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer pipeline to be rehabilitated as part of this project. Rehabilitation methods include point repairs, pipe bursting, open cut replacement, installation of new manholes, and manhole lining. Also included within this contract is the reinstating of approximately 145 active sewer service laterals. b. Alternate No. 1: i. There is approximately 1,605 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer pipeline to be rehabilitated as part of this project. Rehabilitation methods include point repairs, pipe bursting, installation of new manholes, and manhole lining. Also included within this contract is the reinstating of approximately 33 active sewer service laterals. c. Alternate No. 2: i. There is approximately 1,246 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer pipeline to be rehabilitated as part of this project. Rehabilitation methods include point repairs, pipe bursting, installation of new manholes, and manhole lining. Also included within this contract is the reinstating of approximately 12 active sewer service laterals.
