Structure Replacement Bridge No. 5111-0014 Bear Creek Blvd over Laurel Run Forest District 11, Pinchot State Forest Plains Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania Project Description: a. All site work to suit project preparation, execution, and completion. b. Partial demolition of the existing structure carrying Bear Creek Blvd over Laurel Run consisting of a 45’-0” long x 35’-0” wide Reinforced Concrete T Beam bridge. This structure will be replaced with a Single Span Composite Prestressed Concrete Spread Box Beam Superstructure atop Cast-in-Place Reinforced Concrete Cantilever Abutments that will provide a 18’ clear roadway width between the Structure Mounted Guide Rail barriers. The existing bridge substructure will be demolished to Elevation 1022.00 and the new bridge will span past the existing abutments and wingwalls. Bridge Maintenance (6 Bridges) Forest District 5, Rothrock State Forest West, Jackson, & Todd Townships Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania This project is for the maintenance repair or rehabilitation of six existing structures throughout the Rothrock State Forest. The proposed work includes: • The maintenance repair for Bridge A on PA Furnace Road includes repairing underpinning along the near abutment using a concrete collar and rock scour protection; cleaning and staining the timber bridge rails; cleaning and sealing the substructure units; rebuilding a stone masonry wingwall; and replacing portions of the guiderail along the approach. • The rehabilitation for Bridge B on Pine Swamp Road will replace the existing superstructure with a steel I-beam bridge superstructure, including a nail laminated timber deck, timber curbs and structure mounted guiderail. The maintenance repairs for Bridge B also includes new concrete for beam seats, backwalls, cheekwalls, wingwall caps and concrete collars along the abutments; repointing existing stone masonry joints; and installing a new structure waterproofing and foundation drainage system. • The maintenance repair for Bridge C on Stone Creek Road includes cleaning and staining the timber bridge rails; cleaning and sealing the substructure units; recaulking joints; and replacing portions of the guiderail along the approach. • The maintenance repair for Bridge D on Seeger Road includes cleaning and staining the timber bridge rails; cleaning and sealing the substructure units; and recaulking joints. • The maintenance repair for Bridge E on Diamond Valley Road includes cleaning and staining the timber bridge rails; cleaning and sealing the substructure units; repointing existing stone masonry joints; and crack sealing on the asphalt roadway. • The maintenance repair for Bridge F on Trough Creek Drive includes cleaning, blasting, and repainting the steel floorbeam system; replacing existing deck connection hardware and retorquing hanger connections; retreating the existing glu-laminated timber arches and sidewalks; removing/reinstalling the membrane waterproofing and asphalt over the deck including repaving the approach roadway; and replacement of the approach guiderail.
