This project will replace the existing 85kW indoor open-frame natural gas generator in VMRI 40 with a similarly sized outdoor natural gas generator with weather and sound-insulated housing. The project consists of, but is not limited to, renovation of the central food court space located on the first floor of the Memorial Union. Scope includes a new food service salad bar, counters, POS stations and food service equipment. Finish upgrades to include new flooring tile, wall finishes, and an acoustic ceiling tile cloud. A new security grille will be installed at the main entry. The project includes limited scope within each of the five venues serving the food court. This includes replacement of existing acoustic ceiling tile and grid, minor painting, and patching of fiber reinforced plastic paneling. Scope of work also includes mechanical and electrical construction in adjacent areas to modify services to serve the space. Some services will be routed through excavated tunnels below.
